Netcarity for assistance
Offering user-friendly access to everyday services including personal care, communication, shopping and housekeeping to benefit older people is the primary aim of Netcarity.
Scenario
Some users will decide to install a Netcarity system to support everyday tasks such as cooking and shopping.
The system could manage grocery deliveries from the local supermarket by linking users’ calendars to the delivery service, ensuring that someone is always in when the shopping arrives.
Sample technology
The Netcarity team will develop a smart microphone which uses sounds to identify users’ activities and emotions. Some sound patterns can be associated with cooking, others with watching television or bathing. Should an incident arise, the smart microphone enables immediate identification of what a user was doing at the time, helping inform decisions about the required response and whether or not they need assistance.
Who benefits?
- Users are motivated to continue living their everyday lives
- Companies can use the Netcarity system to offer their customers a higher quality of service and better-support for everyday activities
- Caregivers and existing professional support services can use the Netcarity system to streamline the process of supporting older people, allowing them to do more for a larger number of people in the same time
